MojiLife Review: Gimmick MLM or Home Business Innovation?

MojiLife Review | BlogandHustle.com

Is the MojiLife direct sales business something to get excited about or just another gimmick MLM? In this review I’ll shed some light on who they are, what they bring to the network marketing table and, most importantly, should you be a part of it.

Am I with MojiLife? No, here’s what I do.

What is MojiLife?

MojiLife is a brand new MLM home fragrance company based in Utah that is picking up steam on the internet lately. If you do a quick search on Youtube you’ll see many distributors showing off their new air fresheners and displaying the different scents you can get.

The products that MojiLife sells look great and definitely something that you’d find at a Bed, Bath & Beyond or a Bath & Bodyworks.

It only goes to show how much trust business owners and inventors have in the network marketing industry when the product line would undoubtedly crush it in the open market

The MojiLife business statement says that they provide cutting-edge technology while also building relationships and improving lives of people all around the world.

They’re doing this by promoting their flagship product which is a home fragrance diffuser that doesn’t use any candle flame. It’s all functions with a simple heat mechanism and a fan. Inside each fragrance pod is what looks like a piece of wood that’s been infused with a specific scent.

What’s different about this air freshener is that it can connect through bluetooth and can be charged like a cell phone so no more buying batteries or plugging your freshener into the wall socket.

MojiLife Product Line

The products that MojiLife sells range from simple spray air fresheners to VR goggles. The main products are the Airmoji and the mojilife mini which is a small version.

The Airmoji is an innovative diffuser that is rechargeable, portable, and can be controlled via bluetooth from your smartphone. It has 3 different settings which are controlled by a button on the front. If you hit it once it will turn on indefinitely. Press it again and it will be on for an hour and then off for one hour.

Pressed a third time the Airmoji will perform how you’ve set in the MojiLife app that you download from your app store. From the app you can set how many hour cycles you want it to turn on and off or what hours of the day you want the diffuser to be on and off.

An example would be if you want the diffuser to be off while you’re at work and turn on at 5pm when you usually get home.

They also sell a wide range of different scent pods that you can drop into the diffuser and fill a room with the scent. These scent pods come in 2 forms: fragrances and essential oils.

A quick look at their catalog will give you an idea of how many different fragrances and essential oils they carry. It’s so large that you’ll find it difficult not to like at least one. Click here to see the full Catalog

Who is MojiLife For?

It’s almost shocking to me that this company would choose multi-level marketing to promote their product. I would see this being sold at your local stores very well. So the fact that they chose this method speaks volumes to the word of mouth home business model.

I’d go ahead and say it. The MojiLife products looks like it would be for everyone. They’re not crazy overpriced like is common with products sold through MLM’s which always been one of the main drawbacks of network marketing products.

The prices aren’t ridiculously inflated for the sole purpose of paying distributors commissions. This is massively unlike what you normally see with products sold through MLM. Usually the product is 3 times the cost it would be if you’d see it on standard shelves.

And honestly, the product just isn’t intrusive. It’s not making huge deceptive claims that it’s going to fix your body or make you stronger. It’s not asking you to do anything uncomfortable. It’s just promising to make your house and car smell good. I see nothing alarming about that.

This company promotes the home party strategy to their distributors, and rightly so. Distributors set up parties at their homes and showcase the different scents and diffusers to sell product.

They’ll hand out samples and tell their story about how their life is completely changed now that their whole house smells like cedarwood and cinnamon. Pardon the tiny sarcasm (couldn’t help it) but you understand what I mean.

Many people have succeeded in MLM with home party companies like this. I don’t see this as being something everyone can do though. Promoting MLM products through home parties requires a higher than average level of extrovertedness which not a lot of people can just fake. However, for those who are already very giddy MojiLife will be their calling.

MojiLife Compensation Plan | BlogandHustle.com

The MojiLife Compensation Plan

MojiLife customers have the option of becoming an airmoji distributor or representatives and earn commissions on the products they sell to others. They also have the ability to sponsor, or sign up distributors and make a commission on their sales and team sales.

From what I’ve researched this far, there doesn’t seem to be any restriction on how many people you can sign up on your first line. So, no spillover.

My opinion is that very seldomly do people buy a product from an MLM company solely for the product. Most of the time it’s shared as a way to supplement your current income or to potentially replace a household income while selling a product.

I don’t see MojiLife as any different although I do see value in the product and would gladly use this if it was sold in a local store.

To sign up as a MojiLife distributor a customer will choose from 3 different business start up packages. I’ve listed the packages below with what they include and what they’ll cost a new distributor.

Now here’s where everything starts to get a little fuzzy. I tried taking notes on the compensation plan to write here but I literally started hearing my brain fry. Here’s a quick summary of the first 2 levels and if you’d like to learn the whole plan I’ve attached a video below for your own brain omelette.

The 2 terms you’ll hear most are Personal Retail Volume (or PRV) which is how much product you’ve bought or sold that month and Personal Wholesale Volume (or PV) which is how much your team has bought or sold. It’s not very clear in the video what calculations are used to come up with these numbers as you’ll see below.

A new distributor starts in the level called Moji Associate. The level above this one is called Moji Friend and has a requirement of $850 worth of personal sales to be awarded. At this level your commision payout increases from 20% to 25% personal retail volume.

To become a Moji Consultant you’ll generate a minimum of 300 PRV and 1,000 PV in a month. In english this means that you’ll already have 3 new distributors below you who are also buying product and selling product to others.

Please see the video below to get the full compensation plan information.

Conclusion

It’s no mystery that the home party strategy of some MLM companies work. Just the names Avon, Mary Kay, and Tupperware proves that point.

And although MojiLife product line looks appealing and would do great at a Target or Walmart I’m not sure how well it would do in the network marketing space. As of this post the company is less than a year old and only has 2,000 customers/distributors.

I’m curious to see what this company will turn into in 2018. The internet is changing a lot of the ways network marketing companies are being promoted and I really don’t see the home party strategy competing.

The classic method of marketing to friends and family worked in the 80’s and 90’s but in today’s world 90% of all people live online. If Mojilife encourages and teaches their representatives to market online in addition to offline there may be some hope.
